What is a cookie?

Cookies are small text files that are used by many websites in the United Kingdom and around the world. Cookies are automatically created by your browser when you visit our website and are stored by our server on the hard disk of your terminal device (computer or mobile device).

Cookies do not cause any damage to your end device and do not carry viruses, trojans or other malware. The cookie is used to record information about the specific terminal device that you use. Cookies therefore contain a number of characters that enable the browser to be uniquely identified during a repeat visit to our website.

Depending on their function and purpose, the cookies on our website can be divided into four categories: essential cookies, performance cookies, functional cookies, cookies for marketing purposes.

Cookies required for technical reasons (essential cookies)

Essential cookies are absolutely necessary for the website to run on your device. These cookies are used exclusively by the person responsible and are therefore so-called first-party cookies. To provide you with a smooth online experience, we use so-called "session cookies". These cookies are used to process the following types of data:

  • Browser type/version,
  • Operating system used by your device,
  • Referrer URL (website visited immediately before accessing our website),
  • Host name of the device requesting access (IP address),
  • Time of the server request.

We process the above-mentioned data so that when you move between pages on our website, our system can recognise that you have already visited certain pages. This makes our website more user-friendly. When you return to our website to use our services, our system will automatically recognise that you have already visited our website and can recall your entries and settings from that previous session so that you do not have to re-enter them.

We need to process your personal data in this way in order to provide our website service. The legal basis for this data processing with cookies, which is necessary for technical reasons, is therefore in order that we can fulfil our obligations to provide the website for you and the functions of the website for you.

Most web browsers are configured to accept cookies automatically. The length of time for which cookies are stored depends on the way they are used. In general, cookies are automatically deleted when you leave a website. However, in order to improve the user-friendliness of our website, we also use temporary cookies that remain stored on your terminal device for a certain period of time.

Of course you can also visit our website without accepting cookies. If you do not wish to benefit from the advantages of cookies, you can change your browser settings to deactivate or restrict the acceptance of cookies. Please note that this may limit the functionality of our online offer.

In order to revoke your consent given in connection with website functions ("cookies"; "pixels") or to restrict it to certain cookies, you have the following options in particular:

a) Use the direct "opt-out" option provided for each service.

b) Use the settings of your browser.

The following list provides more information on how to manage your cookie settings or disable cookies in your browser:

c) You can have http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices analyse which cookies are used by you and deactivate them individually or collectively. This is an offer of the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance.

List of cookies that do not require approval:

Cookies that require approval on this website

We use cookies that are not needed on our website for technical reasons. However, without these cookies, functions that enable comfortable surfing on our website are no longer available if you switch them off. The settings you have made cannot be saved and therefore have to be queried again on each page. Therefore we have to ask you for your consent to use these cookies.

2. COOKIES REQUIRING CONSENT

Cookies requiring consent can be defined as cookies that are not absolutely necessary from a legal point of view. Analytics cookies help us to understand how visitors interact with this website by collecting information anonymously. For the continuous improvement of our website, we collect data for statistical and analytical purposes, such as the number of visits, in order to optimize our content. Marketing cookies are used to target advertising to a specific user (behavioral targeting). The purpose of using marketing cookies is to display advertising that is particularly relevant to the users of the website.
